For many players, Xfire was more than a contact list. It showed what friends were playing, made it easy to join a server, recorded gaming history and gave communities a place for screenshots, videos, blogs and conversation. When those services disappeared, a particular part of PC gaming culture disappeared with them.
Xf1re is our attempt to rebuild that experience with modern infrastructure while keeping the familiar character of the classic website and client. We work on the web application, server and bridge services together, gradually restoring features and improving compatibility.
Xf1re is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the former Xfire company, its owners, its developers or any later rights holders. We were not members of any former Xfire team. The project is a fan-made, independent effort inspired by the service and by the community that formed around it.
References to Xfire, compatible clients, games and third-party services are used to explain interoperability and the history of the project. All third-party names, logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Xf1re is developed by the Xf1re Team as an independent community project. Features may arrive gradually, and parts of the service may occasionally change while performance, security and compatibility are improved. The project preserves the classic appearance where it matters while replacing fragile legacy internals with maintainable services.
We do not sell user profiles, run behavioural advertising or build the project around engagement tracking. Our goal is to provide a useful gaming community service, not to turn personal activity into an advertising product.
Xf1re only becomes meaningful when people use it: adding games, creating communities, sharing screenshots, helping test client compatibility and reporting problems. Feedback from users helps us decide what should be restored, corrected or improved next.
