As far as I can tell, the only place gender is used is in the activity feed where it uses it to specify pronouns. This could (and should) be gender-neutral by default, as most platforms do. There's just no reason to have it be gendered, let alone confined to only male and female.

I think the creator is aiming for accuracy and compatibility with the client and the plans for the creator to make the website accessible on the older computers(or atleast make a seperate version of the website), that could not happen, but since some UI's(mostly the ones related to editing your profile) look off from the original xFire design and generally is something you would see on the newer design websites, then that could be added. Or maybe not due to the client, I don't know
