Some 10,000 years ago, the god of light vanquished the dark god Valmar, although the battle created a great rift that now divides the world in two. When there surfaces the possibility of Valmar's rebirth, a female Church singer named Elena and her bodyguard, Ryudo (who doesn't much like churches or females), set out on a quest to prevent it. Along the way, they will have to fight evil forces and interact with a number of helpful characters. Fans of the original Grandia's battle system -- an innovative mix of turn-based, strategy, and real-time elements -- will be happy to know that it remains intact in this superior RPG
