Outlive is a real-time strategy game, in which the player must manage their base and build troops to attack their opponents. The game features advanced artificial intelligence, allowing a person to play matches against up to 7 computer-controlled armies. In Outlive it is also possible to play against other people, through serial cable, modem, local network and Internet.

Matches held via local network and Internet support up to 16 people in a single game. Matches played over the Internet use Continuum Game Server (CGS), a gaming service offered free of charge by Continuum, where you can find other people to chat with and play outlive, through an interface that is completely ingrained in the game.

The only way to play this game online today in 2025 is actually downloading a third party software like GameRanger and make your own server there.
