Xf1re on Linux + Companion software
2026-07-23 03:07 CEST
So, before anything I will share the guide to have Xf1re running on Linux:

https://kenai-world.neocities.org/KenaiWorld-Guides-Xf1reGuide

Now, to have more to do on Linux you probably want the companion software that I developed that you can get here:

https://kenai-world.neocities.org/KenaiWorld-Software-Xf1re-LinuxCompanion

I know this might look like shameful advertising, but the guides are detailed and have pictures, so it is better to read them there than here as a wall of text.

Im also aware that I promise a GUI version of the companion software but life DID get a lot of busy since then, and with all that stuff irl and a new full time job that has nothing to do with coding in the horizon I prefer to share what I have (and that it works) so more people can enjoy the software even on platform like Linux.

I apologize for the delay and will share when I get to 1.0.

Xf1re Linux companion software
2026-06-26 10:16 CEST
Its been some instance weeks but I think I have the first working version of the a companion software for Linux that will make the use of the software way more easy:

- Enabling easy gametracking

It will detect games (wine or binaries) and it will deploy a 'dummie' window that will (with some setting on Xf1re ofc) trigger game tracking. So no more need to keep games on the same prefix as Xf1re and/or launching side by side.

- Enable screenshot

The software already can take full screenshot (so you might want to always play full screen or crop the image), add the necessary data to it so it can be properly register and upload it to the servers

It doesnt sound that much now that I write it, but for me it makes it way more easy to use! Regardless, everything now it really crude, with only terminal and editing a .rs file, but a proper GUI will be on the works soon (probably start next week, now that it works).

so glory to the penguin and its autistic users?
