People leaving the platform
2026-07-07 18:21:03
I just noticed that a ton of people don't use xF1re after 1-4 months since their register on here

While yes, I do show up as being last online over 2 months ago, I use the website part of the service, but it still bums me out that people drop this place quite quickly

I guess it's for the die-hard xf1ires i guess.

For context, it took 2 years for Xfyre to reach 200 registered users and it was around 20 people online at best. Then it died. Now there's almost 300 online on Xf1re at this very moment.

I'm extremely proud and 100% satisfied with where this community is right now. I've spent 6 years on the project and never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd ever see hundreds of people online at once. If this is the best it's ever going to be, then I'm in heaven, quite frankly.

We have a lot of things we are working on, we know people will come back in time as long as we keep working on the project :)

i completely agree and same feeling with shell commented above, the problem is there is no lot things to-do here same with other revived platforms like escargot msn or lemmy(reddit). but im happy with xf1re dosen't fucks up my system ram like shitass electron apps(steam, discord).

It is just getting bigger, I just focus on the new names.

Even back in the day people just download it, log in and never opened it again.

My friend, they are waiting 1-4 months for you to log back in

Well I don't plan on leaving this platform anytime soon.

I am done with Discord, I'd rather move to Xf1re and Escargot/Nina.

I have completely left Reddit as well because I lost interest in it.

I also stopped uploading videos to YouTube as well because it just ain't for me on a big platform.

I am moving to the indie web quickly and surely.

you cannot expect a normie using a "niche" platform like this for so long before they get bored of it after a few days an returing to their main 4 "websites" and discrap servers, that's why retro platforms and forums cannot have an stable userbase at long term (and then you have them there critizing on youtube videos that "today's web is boring everything feels corporate everything is ai")
