I don't log on here much because of complexities of life I am experiencing right now, but decided to get on here this time.
Compared to something like America, Japan(and a few other countries I might add) lacks any Fair Use doctrine and runs specifically on the premise of protecting intellectual properties and works.
For someone to be able to use something they must ask the studio or creator(s) for permission to use their specific work for something, even if the property or work hasn't been sold or mentioned by a company for many years or decades and not doing so means you're breaking the law.
What's crazy is how the "protection of works" is applied to many other things, like you having to follow strict rules if you were to post something about the game or if you want to use a certain things like images and all that stuff.
