Xfire client update changelogs August 2025
2025-08-27 14:47:39
Hello once more!

I didn't need to be doing that, but like I said for people that talked to me I like to give feedback to the Xfire community in what's going on and that's the reason I'm doing this post in the first place...

Keep in mind, I'm not the owner of Xfire or anything, I'm just one of the Admins that helps the community with games compatibility, my focus is more into old games and fan-games support, so if you are looking for newer games to be supported by Xfire in the future contact @revenant567revenant567 since she do a better job in support modern games than me.

Anyway let's go for the update...

Client update:

- The option to record video with audio using Xfire overlay got enabled by default. (Since apparently people was forgetting to check that option before recording something)
- Members from communities are no longer going to be added in the friends list. (But Friends to Friends got disabled temporarily)
- Everytime you reinstall Xfire client it will try to get the latest version of Xfire_games.ini (It's the file responsible to detect games, which we are updating that constantly to make games always compatible with the client)

** For the Xfire_games.ini file you can also get the latest file in my Teamspeak 3 server, since I'm also updating manually over there and might include personal comments which is not included in the file that comes with the installer.

For the Xfire_games.ini file coming from me:

- Updated Jet 'n' Guns entry
- Updated Empire Earth the art of conquest
- Updated The binding of Issac
- Updated Left 4 dead 1 and 2
- Updated Half-Life 2 (Including detection for the anniversary version)
- Updated auto detect for Half-life Lost coast, episode 1 and episode 2
- Updated both Call of Duty 2 SP and MP to auto detect while using Steam in a different drive
- Updated both Call of Duty 1 SP and MP to auto detect while using Steam in a different drive
- Updated both Call of Duty 4 SP and MP to auto detect while using Steam in a different drive

- Added Rise of Nations: Extended edition
- Added Five Nights at Freddy's 1, 2, 3, 4 (Demo might be included in later date)
- Added Sonic Robo Blast 2 + SRB2 Riders and SRB2 Kart (These last 2 require manual detection)
- Added I Wanna Maker
- Added Octodad: Dadliest Catch
- Added Sonic Mania
- Added FORCED
- Added Hyper Void
- Added Cosmophony
- Added PixelJunk Monsters
- Added The Stanley Parable Demo and Full version

- Also added JetAudio (Music player) to Xfire support as well...

What's coming next?

Well... From my part I have few games ready to be shipped, but it's a long proccess of testing and update the pages of each individual game, so maybe in late October I'll have time to get them ready.

Hopefully you liked this update and see you soon enough! =)
