Curious to know...

Today I'm going to answer the question, "Is Xfire a Discord replacement?" Well the short is answer will be a straight No, and don't worry I'll tell you my reasons.

First we need to study where the Discord concept came from, because what's trying to do is nothing new. In my opinion Discord is like a Frankenstein of features put together in the same place, we had voip apps that were very popular on the day and Discord have that, video streaming also was increasing popularity and Discord have that, what's the big deal then?

Well, if you already made the transition to be an AI or a bot, you will not understand what I have to say here, since this is a human feeling, but basically since we're all humans here if there are a lot of choices for us to choose then everything gets boring and we lose interest pretty fast... I know we should be able to handle the overhelming choices, but for our brains it's too much and unbearable so we just lose interest and move on. There...

I didn't need to be doing that, but like I said for people that talked to me I like to give feedback to the Xfire community in what's going on and that's the reason I'm doing this post in the first place...

Keep in mind, I'm not the owner of Xfire or anything, I'm just one of the Admins that helps the community with games compatibility, my focus is more into old games and fan-games support, so if you are looking for newer games to be supported by Xfire in the future contact @revenant567revenant567 since she do a better job in support modern games than me.

Anyway let's go for the update...

Client update:

- The option to record video with audio using Xfire overlay got enabled by default. (Since apparently people was forgetting to check that option before recording something)
- Members from communities are no longer going to be added in the friends list. (But Friends to Friends got disabled...

Well first of all I need to say thank you everyone for the Xfire support, you liking it or not, even if you don't interact with anyone you are part of the Xfire Community just to be online and as part of it I hope you treat everyone well so more people can be comfortable to join.

Anyway, I have to say that I'm now officially a "Game admin management", which means I can add and update games a little bit more freely and frequently than what I used to. Also I'm one of the people to take care of the game's pages as well... I didn't need to even be posting this, but I like to make people be aware of what's going on and what is going to be updated, just like the old Xfire devs used to come over here. What I need to say is... I'll be posting updates and which games I'm planning to add in the future, also comments are always enabled so feel free to comment on my posts as well...

Hello! I'll just make a list of games that soon will be showing up on Xfire. These I customized myself and as always you can get xfire_games.ini file (File that Xfire uses to detect games) directly from my Teamspeak 3 server. If you don't want to wait for Xfire to update or don't like how the list is organized by default.

Games to be added:

* 100% Orange Juice
* Suguri
* Rise of Nations: Extended Edition (Steam)
* Five Nights at Freddy's 1, 2, 3 and 4

Games working on:

Sonic Robo Blast 2

Hello once more!

I've been developing a server for my friend to play, but didn't know it would work as much, so I'll be working in a Quake III Arena server as well. Not for the latest version, this one is for version 1.16n in case people don't know this version is possible for you to connect into the server using your PC of course or your Dreamcast copy as well playing using emulation it seems.

While working in the server, I'll be testing and modifying little things for the game to be enjoyable and not the same same old Q3A we got use to... I won't add too much if none, but I'll be modifying some stats for the game and tweaking and balancing others.

The server you can access it through Xfire or in my profile, so any feedback about it I would appreciate, no matter if you are on Dreamcast or PC.

Very quickly update, I made a post in the vogons Forum providing some hashes for Teamspeak 3 clients and servers, as well for Teamspeak 2 clients and servers. Unfortuante I couldn't post links over there, but at least I provided useful information such as the file hashes of the original, untouched files. Now at least you can compare the hashes from files you get out there with the originals.

I've been talking with some of my contacts about having an early version of the xfire_games.ini which I updated the entries for better compatibility with Xfire + some extra contributions from the community. I came here to say the file is available in my Teamspeak 3 server to download, It's also recommended to join my server so you can submit your own entries and contribute for a better compatibility with games. (I'm still going to be submitting my entries in the Discord official server to be added over there, but in case someone doesn't want to use Discord for whatever reason, I can submit your entries over there as well for you.
