Release Date: December 3rd, 2019 Publisher: Xbox Game Studios Developer: 343 Industries, Splash Damage, Ruffian Games, Bungie, Saber Interactive Official Website: https://www.halowaypoint.com/halo-the-master-chief-collection Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a collection of the Halo series acting as a highly-customizable launcher for all but one mainline Halo title with players being able to choose which of the 6 current single-player campaigns they want to download and/or play as well as swap other functions such as multiplayer for each individual game and extended language packs. The collection includes Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4. Only two of the games had previously received PC ports - the original Halo: Combat Evolved released in 2003 and Halo 2 released in 2007. The games were released individually in chronological fashion, starting with Halo: Reach in December 2019 with the rest following throughout the next year and concluding with Halo 4 on November 17th, 2020. A port of Halo 5: Guardians meant to bring the fifth-installment to PC via the MCC was in development at various points but it was scrapped due to various undisclosed "technical hurdles" noting that in order to bring the game to PC it would have to be remade from the ground up.
