Black Mesa is the remake of the cult classic, Half-Life, developed by fans on the Half-Life 2 engine (Source engine). In Half-Life / Black Mesa, you play as Gordon Freeman, a scientist who finds himself at the center of a catastrophic incident in a underground research laboratory. You'll have get back to the surface to save your life and the lives of your colleagues. Black Mesa exists in two versions: - The 2012 free release, containing 90% of the original campaign (everything except Xen, the last part). - The 2020 paid release, using an updated source engine (2013), with a completed campaign, improved, and validated by Valve. This version is still updated here. The original standalone release from September 2012 is no longer available for download at the official website, but is available here, and an updated version is available here. After installing Black Mesa: Source, it's highly recommended to rename the blackmesa folder to BMS in the sourcemods directory. This will fix many issues.
